At 97, Vera continues to surprise us. Living with dementia hasn’t dimmed her spirit — or her sharpness — especially when it comes to numbers.
Aishwarya, one of our youngest carers at InnaCare, is just 18 years old. Originally from Nepal, she’s currently studying Business Management in London. Despite the vast difference in age and background, she and Vera have built a truly unique bond.
One afternoon, Aishwarya sat with Vera and gently placed a notepad on the table. “Let’s do some sums,” she said with a warm smile. And in that moment, something beautiful happened.
Vera, who once worked as a schoolteacher, lit up. Slowly but surely, her fingers traced the numbers, her lips quietly whispering the solutions. With every answer — right or wrong — Aishwarya offered gentle encouragement, creating space for Vera to feel confident, respected, and engaged.
This wasn’t just a maths session. It was a connection across generations. It was dignity in action. It was care that saw beyond age or diagnosis.
At InnaCare, we believe in the power of personalised support and meaningful companionship. Our carers don’t just help — they inspire. Because real care is about more than tasks. It’s about relationships that restore purpose and joy.
